The highly anticipated release of ARC's next 1/10th touring car is now over, after months of testing and development the new ARC touring car is here, we are proud to release details of the new ARC R11.
ARC has been engaged in constant research, development and testing since the release of the ARC R10 2015, all of these results have been combined into the new ARC R11. The number of innovations and improved performance benefits of this new design were significant enough to require a new model name, the ARC R11.
The ultimate goal for the ARC R11 was to lower the center of gravity, provide a more centralized weight distribution and make the car more consistent and easier to drive on all surfaces and track conditions. While this is a tall order, we feel that we have accomplished everything we set out to do.
The ARC R11 has a lower center of gravity and a more centered weight distribution. This has been achieved by moving the motor inward by 4mm, while a widened lower chassis gives slightly stiffer flex characteristics, which help make the car more consistent lap after lap.
The bulkheads have been relocated 1mm inward per side, bringing the bulkheads closer by 2mm over the previous R10.
The shock towers have been lowered and utilize only 2 screws to mount to the bulkhead caps which allows the shock towers and bulkhead caps to be shorter to further contribute to a lower center of gravity, the 2 screw mounts also allow the bulkheads to flex generating more overall grip.
The front spool and rear gear differential have been lowered in the bulkheads by 1.8mm, this further reduces the centre of gravity, and also induces driveshaft plunge which helps to generate more traction. The eccentric diff carriers can be rotated for a higher position if required.
Responding to demand from our customer, ARC has produced all of the redesigned aluminum parts in satin black.
Retaining the highest grade 7075-T6 aluminum, for the strength and reliability ARC has become renowned for.
The new big bore short shocks also come in satin black and are supplied with new pistons that were tested and proven to provide better handling in both low and high grip conditions.
The motor mount has been completely redesigned; featuring a one piece mono-block base plate produced from one solid piece of aluminum which makes assembly a breeze onto the newly designed chassis.
This design makes chassis flex and motor flex completely independent without affecting the drivetrain alignment.
The redesigned lay shaft mounts makes swapping out the spur gear simple and efficient. The ATS function also been involved into block base. Stock racers, rest assured your large pinion and small spur combinations will fit easily for a broad range of final drive requirements.
The R11's all new aluminum parts are now keyed to the chassis for maximum precision during assembly and minimizes the chances of tweak while racing. The inner toe blocks now come standard as a split block, the same design for the front and rear and can be reversed for multiple width and toe combinations without having to buy multiple blocks. Gone are the days of having to remove your toe blocks to replace roll center shims. The new roll center shims make adjustments very easy. Just loosen the toe block and slide in the desired thickness shim in a matter of seconds, for both the 1 piece and split blocks.
The bulkheads now have a new sway bar mounting system integrated into the design for maximum efficiency and precision.
The new bearing and collar system makes setting your sway bars extremely easy and a snap to set correctly.
The new floating steering rack has been lightened and designed to centralize weight distribution while giving a wider range of adjustment to all of your steering needs. A battery spacer has also been built into the mount to locate the batteryaway from the belt.
Front DJ CVD's now come as standard equipment on the R11, a must have upgrade on many kits.
The new carbon fiber battery mount system has been refined and lightened to reduce and centralize weight.
The R11 is the culmination of years of engineering, testing and development.
The R10 is known as one of the most durable cars on the market.
The R11 continues and builds on that legacy by retaining the tried and tested plastics and drivetrain components.
The changes to the weight balance, center of gravity and ease of setup are sure to make the R11 a favorite at tracks everywhere.
